Team solidarity activities

Team solidarity activities allow managers to get their whole team involved in lending a hand to the non-profit of their choice.

Gaining experience outside the office

Since 2016, SNCF managers have been allowed to organize team solidarity activities in every region of France so that all members of a team can spend time helping a non-profit on a socially conscious project.

Why it matters

The programme has several benefits:

  • forming social bonds among team members
  • learning about the non-profit world and building ties with those who work there
  • motivating employees to participate in the Foundation’s skills-sharing efforts

Some examples

  • giving young people the confidence to pursue their training and career goals
  • cleaning up litter
  • fixing up non-profits’ facilities and grounds, or repainting their spaces to improve morale
  • going on outings or organizing activities with people with disabilities, the socially isolated and the elderly
  • preparing meals and collecting or sorting supplies for the underprivileged
  • making goods to be distributed by food assistance non-profits

Boosting employee engagement

Team solidarity activities are part of our skills-sharing programme. They let employees volunteer for and get involved with non-profits during work hours for a day.
