Becoming an SNCF Athlete
Since 1982, we’ve worked with French champions from every Olympic and Paralympic discipline. Under our special employment agreement (CIP), they develop SNCF professions as they pursue their ambitions in sport.
How it works
When athletes join our programme, they become SNCF employees. We help them create the right conditions to win medals and make their dreams come true, even as they lay the groundwork for life after their elite careers in sport.
Career growth opportunities
Programme participants:
- Work 50%-70% of regular hours at SNCF and can adjust their schedule to balance their professional life with the demands of their athletic career—practice, competition, training with the French national team and more.
- Learn a profession and can pursue training and career development.
- Can continue working at SNCF after they retire from sport. Over 70% of participants choose to stay.
- Can count on the support of our 283,000 employees throughout their athletic career.
Team-building tool
The SNCF Athletes Programme helps us see the special talents of each employee. Everyone at SNCF supports these champions, who exemplify our values of performance and corporate responsibility. Whenever any of them wins a title, it makes all of us proud.
