
Keolis signs new international contracts
Keolis has won contracts to operate and maintain bus and rail networks in Sweden, the US and the Netherlands. Let’s review them.

Keolis in Sweden
Keolis has won a strategic ten-year contract to operate 41 bus routes in central Stockholm and on the island of Lidingö. Awarded by the Stockholm Regional Transport Authority, this 800 million euro contract features a significant electrification of the fleet, aligning with Sweden's climate goals.
Present in Sweden since 2003, Keolis has become a key player in the country’s public transport landscape. Today, the company operates more than 1,300 vehicles across several regions, including Stockholm (SL), Uppsala (UL), Skåne (Skånetrafiken), Västra Götaland (Västtrafik), Dalarna (Dalatrafik), Värmland (Värmlandstrafik).

A growing presence in the US
In 2024, Keolis won two contracts to operate and maintain bus networks in Phoenix (Arizona) and Austin (Texas). In the eastern suburbs of Phoenix, the Grouptakes over a network of 300 buses for a 4-year period. And in Austin, it is operating network of 430 vehicles under a 5-year contract.
In California, Keolis operates 209 buses in Orange County in the greater Los Angeles area. Its contract to operate 14 local and 4 express bus routes in Foothill Pomona, in northeast Los Angeles, has also been renewed until 2027. 33 electric and hydrogen-powered buses operate on these routes.

34 km of line in the Netherlands
Keolis Nederland is now operating intercity trains on the Valleilijn, a 34-km rail line linking the provinces of Utrecht and Gelderland. The 13-year contract is expected to generate €150 million in revenue.
We’ve served customers in the Netherlands since 1999, operating bus networks in the city of Almere, in Utrecht province and in the Twente region, as well as 3 rail networks in the provinces of Overijssel and Gelderland.
