Orléans, "laboratory for the mobility of the future" for Keolis
Our subsidiary has won a new six-year contract to maintain and operate the public transport network of the Orléans Metropolis (TAO). From 1 January 2025, Keolis intends to develop an enriched multimodal range of services for almost 300,000 residents in 22 municipalities.

A transport service available 24/7
On Thursday 17 October 2024, Orléans Metropolis renewed its confidence in Keolis to operate and maintain the public transport network (TAO) for the next six years. This contract, worth a total of €493 million, takes effect on 1 January 2025 and covers all modes of transport in the Orléans metropolis: the tramway, buses, bicycles, transport on demand, as well as the park-and-ride facilities and VéloParks. Our company's ambition is to offer a multimodal service 24/7, enabling 100% of the metropolis’ residents to access a TAO service less than 500 metres from their home.

- The launch of the RésaNuit service to ensure safe and convenient night-time travel.
- The creation of a direct coach link via the A10, facilitating access to the Pôle 45 economic hub.
- The merging of TAO applications to simplify the user experience via a single platform.
- The roll-out of free-floating bicycles to encourage soft mobility.
- The organisation of exploratory outings with women ambassadors to improve safety.
- A trial of cycle taxis in the city centre to provide local transport.
We're going to roll out smart, sustainable solutions, incorporating the latest technological advances to make travel smoother, reduce our carbon footprint and make Orléans a laboratory for the mobility of the future.
A trusted partner of Orléans Metropolis since 2012
Since its arrival in Orléans twelve years ago, Keolis has supported the metropolis’ ambition to develop local mobility, thanks to its expertise and the quality of the services offered to passengers. Keolis is constantly innovating, and in January 2022 notably extended transport on demand to the whole of the metropolis, enabling the TAO network to achieve record ridership levels, thanks in particular to young people, who have taken to this transport system even more than others. Keolis has also recently introduced the open payment1 system and generalised the use of HVO2 biofuel.
