Keolis wins tender to operate Nîmes public transport network
Under a €314 million contract with the Greater Nîmes metropolitan council, we’ll operate the system for 6.5 years, starting on 1 July 2024.
Keolis does the Tango
The Nîmes metropolitan council chose us to operate its Tango urban transport network, which serves the 39 municipalities in Greater Nîmes. The contract will generate €314 million in revenue and run for 6.5 years beginning on 1 July 2024.
Expand the network and attract more users
We plan to continue expanding the Tango network by launching a new bus rapid transit line (Tram’bus T5) in 2025, and extending the existing T4 line in 2027. We’ll also boost the network’s appeal by increasing the service speed of the BRT lines. And starting in January 2025, we’ll deploy a transport-on-demand service for the Nîmes university hospital centre, leading economic hubs, and TGV stations.

Accelerating the green transition
With our support, Greater Nîmes will pursue its drive towards more sustainable mobility, targeting a 30% cut in CO2 emissions by 2030. To reach this goal, we aim to run 86% of the vehicles in the Tango fleet on alternative power—electricity, biogas and biofuel. We’ll also install 4,700m of canopies fitted with photovoltaic panels in parking areas for buses and light vehicles.
