1. Heat waves, torrential rain and mudslides, forest fires, storms and more: climate change is already taking a heavy toll on our rail infrastructure. We’re trying to calculate the impact. But you can’t predict everything, so we’re monitoring the network to stay ahead of risks

2. Our climate change adaptation strategy starts with ranking potential responses based on technical and economic feasibility. This helps guide our regeneration work. We’re also designing new, more resilient equipment, like our 1,500-volt CS2R catenary system.

3. We’re putting innovation to work, developing track monitoring systems and digital tools, and switching to more robust technologies such as the ERTMS signalling system.

4. Collaboration is essential, and we’re working closely with local authorities—those on the front line of climate response. Climate change affects us all, and the race to get ready is something we can all get behind.

5. We have a wide range of options to combat climate change, and we use cost-benefit analyses to identify the most effective ones. We also get the word out through the entire SNCF workforce to build a company-wide sustainability mindset.
