For Hafsia Herzi, “every set is a character”
The director of “La Petite Dernière” explains in a video what prompted her to adapt Fatima Daas' novel, and why she enjoyed filming on our railway facilities in the Paris region.
"RER trains and stations are bustling film sets"
In “La Petite Dernière,” adapted from the novel of the same name by Fatima Daas, the main character commutes between the suburbs, where her roots and family are, and Paris, where she studies.
In order to show this daily commute, experienced by millions of inhabitants of the region, several scenes of the movie were filmed in our railway settings. Our Cinéma & Tournages unit was instrumental in organizing these shoots at Haussmann Saint Lazare station, on the platforms of Chelles Gournay station, and aboard the RER E line.
In our video, Hafsia Herzi discusses what inspired her to adapt this sensitive novel, the good surprises this film shoot held for her and how much she loves taking the train.
