Body Cameras and Railway Security

Purpose of processing

Article L.2251-4-1 of the French Transport Code states that “SNCF Railway Security officers may use body cameras to record their actions when an incident has occurred or may occur, given the context or the behaviour of the persons involved. The purpose of the recording is to prevent incidents from occurring during interactions (...).”

Those recordings may be used:

  • For real-time monitoring by a control centre
  • For judicial and administrative purposes

Articles L.4121-1 and L.4122-2 of the French Labour Code require employers to provide a safe working environment for all employees and to take account of all potential risks at source.

Body cameras help create a safe working environment by addressing the risk of aggression against employees.
