Full versionThe second digital revolution
- We’re entering a new digital era driven by the rise of generative AI.
- Our approach has two parts: first, we’re introducing employees to the technology; second, we’re providing a secure, in-house workspace we call SNCF Group GPT, which guarantees data sovereignty.
- Our e.SNCF Solutions teams developed this AI, which combines LLMs from companies such as OpenAI and Mistral to address a wide variety of business and energy efficiency needs.
- It’s being used for tasks like predictive maintenance, HR, customer relations, document retrieval and accessing passenger information.
- The system shows employees the CO2 impact of each prompt to encourage responsible usage.
- Generative AI boosts SNCF’s performance and attractiveness, while supporting our environmental transition.
Key figures:
- 20,000 employees already trained
- 10 business uses approved
- 1 secure in-house tool (SNCF Group GPT)
- 3 LLMs used (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral)
- 1 interactive AI terminal at Paris-Nord station
- 1 academic chair co-sponsored with École Polytechnique on AI and sustainable mobility
