Coups de Cœur Citoyens (Caring Hearts)

SNCF Group’s Coups de Cœur Citoyens programme amplifies the charitable efforts of our employees to help nurture local non-profits throughout France.

The Foundation encourages and supports skills-sharing with partner non-profits on the job, but we also want to promote the volunteer work that Group employees do in their spare time.

Coups de Cœur Citoyens: a snapshot

Our Coups de Cœur Citoyens programme allocates funds to non-profit projects our employees take part in. Their focused personal involvement is gaining momentum nationwide.

How it works

The programme supports local non-profit efforts nominated by employees all across France in areas related to social solidarity and the environment.

Who’s eligible

Any SNCF Group employee who volunteers for or admires a non-profit can apply. The programme is also open to work-study participants, temporary employees and interim staff on contracts running for at least one year.

The vetting process

Twelve regional juries select the winning projects, and each region hands out a “Coup de Cœur” award as well as a Guy Crescent award for a project addressing disability issues. Once the regional juries make their selections, a national jury awards a “Coup de Pouce Fondation” prize to a project in one of the SNCF Foundation’s two focus areas: helping young people find their way as professionals and citizens, and working alongside them to create environmental projects in regions throughout France.

Guy Crescent awards

The regional juries also hand out Guy Crescent awards to recognize employees who give their time to help those with disabilities. The award comes with financial backing for non-profits whose projects make daily life easier for disabled people and their loved ones, with an emphasis on sport. One of the regional award winners is then selected for a national Guy Crescent award, which comes with a €3,000 prize.

Application rules and deadlines

Registrations for the 2025 edition took place from 6 January to 12 March 2025. The regional juries met from 1 April to 11 May 2025, followed by the national jury in June 2025.
