Geodis, the Cup’s official freight carrier
Our Geodis subsidiary—a world leader in logistics— supported Rugby World Cup France 2023 by delivering customized transport and logistics services. It used 40 biogas trucks to carry 80 tonnes of training equipment and gear for the 20 participating national teams, and transported thousands of event volunteers.
Carrying players aboard TGV INOUI and Intercités
As an official sponsor of the Rugby World Cup 2023—held from 8 September to 28 October 2023 in 10 host cities—SNCF Group helped make this event a sporting and popular success. How? By providing eco-friendly transport to the tournament venues for both players and fans. SNCF Voyageurs organized 80 trips in TGV INOUI and Intercités trains, carrying players to the 48 Rugby World Cup 2023 matches. It also transported 2 million fans to and from the host cities: Lille (northern France), Paris - Saint Denis (Paris Region), Lyon, Saint-Étienne, Nice and Marseille (all in south-eastern France), Toulouse (south-western France), and Bordeaux and Nantes (western France).
