Albane Dubois

Meet the French 49er FX Olympian who’s now head of CSR initiatives and school outreach programmes at SNCF SA in southern France.

Her career

From France’s northern coasts to the World Cup podium

Born on 1 April 1992, in Roubaix, northern France, Albane Dubois discovered her passion for sailing on the windswept coasts of her home region. While studying to become a physiotherapist, she also trained as a sailing instructor. In 2015, despite having no prior experience in the high-performance 49er FX skiff class, Albane teamed up with fellow sailor Lili Sebesi. The pair quickly became formidable competitors. After earning her sailing diploma from the Grand-Fort-Philippe Voile Légère Sportive sailing club in Gravelines, northern France, Albane quickly demonstrated immense prowess on the water. A rising star, she moved south to Marseille in 2016, where she joined the elite sailing circuit under FFVoile—the French Sailing Federation and official authority for sailing sports in France. The following year, Albane and Lili won 3rd place at the World Cup Final in Santander, Spain.

Competing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

Albane rose to national fame in 2018, when she clinched France’s championship title. She went on to win fourth place at the 2020 World Championships in Australia. That same year, Albane and Lili Sebesi were selected to represent France at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where they finished 9th in the 49er FX class race in Enoshima Bay.

Versatile sporting skills at work at SNCF

An accomplished athlete, Albane Dubois has extended her Olympic sailing expertise to a range of crewed vessels: competing in light sail regattas as well as indoor challenges and offshore sea races. Transferring her versatile sports skillset to a business environment, she joined SNCF Group on 19 May, 2025 as Head of CSR Initiatives and School Outreach Programmes at SNCF SA in Marseille, southern France. Her role keeps her close to the water, where she continues to train, quietly working toward her next goal: representing France at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
