GEODIS publishes its Climate and Environment Policy
This commitment taken by the company's executive committee shows GEODIS' determination to take action regarding climate change and to reduce the environmental impact of supply chains.
Reasserting its sustainable development agenda
Promoting low-carbon transport, nurturing an eco-design approach, organizing campaigns to raise awareness internally... GEODIS is fully aware that environmental protection is key to the sustainability of its activities and the health of ecosystems, and is thus committed to decarbonising its activities in many ways.
The Climate and Environment Policy marks this commitment and applies to all activities and all geographical areas.
Three main commitments
- Reducing the Group’s carbon footprint following a science-based trajectory, in accordance with the Paris Agreement, and adapting to the effects of climate change
- Preventing and reducing polluting emissions and nuisances to mitigate the impact on populations and ecosystems at risk
- Optimizing the use of resources through a “reduce, reuse, recycle” approach, both for our operations and the services offered to customers
Our climate commitments validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative
The Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), launched in the wake of COP21 in order to help companies set emissions reduction targets, has approved our near-term targets. This is an acknowledgement of GEODIS’ commitment to addressing climate change and confirms that the Group’s strategy aligns with the 2015 Paris Agreement.
« Sustainability is at the heart of our long-term strategy, and we believe that our social and environmental commitment will benefit not only our operations but also the customers, partners and communities we serve », said Marie-Christine Lombard, CEO of GEODIS.
