Keolis wins 42 bus routes in the inner suburbs of Paris

Keolis has been chosen by Île-de-France Mobilités to operate 42 bus routes in the Marne et Brie area over the next eight years. This makes our company the first third-party operator to operate routes in the inner suburbs of Paris.

A strong commitment to mobility for the people of Île-de-France

From 2025, Keolis will be responsible for managing bus routes in Val-de-Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis and Seine-et-Marne. Our company has been chosen by Île-de-France Mobilités, the Île-de-France Mobility Organising Authority (AOM), to operate these lines in the Marne et Brie area. By winning this 8-year contract, worth €900 million in sales, Keolis becomes the first third-party operator to manage bus routes in the inner suburbs, as part of the opening up of the Île-de-France region to competition.

Service quality and energy transition

This contract covers the operation of 6 Bus Operations Centres and 42 bus routes linking the towns of Chelles, Pontault-Combault, Noisy-le-Grand, Clichy-sous-Bois and Montfermeil, serving 557,000 inhabitants.

Our company is committed not only to improving service quality and the passenger experience, but also to carrying out energy conversion work on part of the existing infrastructure, in order to operate electric and NGV vehicles within a fleet currently comprising 350 buses.

A new entity and 1,100 employees

A total of 1,100 employees, including 900 drivers, will be accommodated in a new entity as part of this public service delegation. In addition, the company plans to recruit new staff from 2025 onwards to strengthen the current teams and support the network's growth.

A stronger position in Île-de-France

In addition to this new contract, Keolis is continuing with its major projects in the Île-de-France region, such as the management of the Saint-Denis Pleyel station and the operation of the future lines 16, 17 and 18 of the Grand Paris Express. Our company is thus strengthening its foothold in the capital region, with the ambition of offering a sustainable, innovative, fluid and safe public transport service tailored to the Île-de-France region and its inhabitants.
