SNCF Voyageurs wins contract to operate Line J
On 27 May 2026, Île-de-France Mobilités, the Paris region’s transport authority, selected Transilien SNCF Voyageurs to operate Line J starting in December 2027. Network transformation gathers pace
This new contract marks another milestone for SNCF Voyageurs. After winning its bid to operate Line L in May 2025, the company will now also operate Line J, which connects Paris-St-Lazare station with towns northwest of Paris, including Ermont Eaubonne, Gisors and Vernon. The concession contract reflects the opening of passenger rail services to competition across European Union member states.
On 27 May 2026, the Île-de-France Mobilités board awarded SNCF Voyageurs the concession for commuter Line J. Operations are scheduled to begin in December 2027, following an 18-month pre-operational phase.
The award reflects the transport authority’s confidence in SNCF Voyageurs and its proven expertise in mass transit.
