Tournage de film sur un quai

One in three French films made in 2024 were shot on our sets

We look back at an eventful year for filming on SNCF rail properties—and for our employees hosting the shoots.

Samuel Le Bihan has a passion for trains!

In “Seul” (Alone), directed by Pierre Isoard, actor Samuel Le Bihan portrays French sailor Yves Parlier during the 2000 Vendée Globe race. During the film’s pre-release press tour in late 2024, he shared his fondness for trains with us.

Our stations and trains—memorable backdrops for epic scenes

SNCF Group’s Cinéma et Tournage team hosted some remarkable film productions in 2024, further strengthening the bonds between SNCF and the world of cinema. Thanks to our employees’ hard work, last year our stations, platforms and trains served as the backdrops for several moving and thrilling scenes.

Cédric Klapisch, for instance, set up his camera in Paris Saint-Lazare station and in Normandy, northwestern France, while Yvan Attal and Jérôme Commandeur shot their films in Paris-Est station at the end of the year. We also worked with top actors and actresses, including Rami Malek, Karin Viard, Alex Lutz, Doria Tillier, Gérard Lanvin, Didier Bourdon, Valérie Lemercier, Louise Bourgoin, Jonathan Cohen, Laurent Lafitte, Laura Smet and many others.

Our enduring love affair with film

Ever since the Lumière brothers’ pioneering motion picture of the arrival of a train at La Ciotat station in 1895, SNCF has enjoyed an enduring bond with the world of cinema. Over a century later, SNCF continues to partner with the French film industry. Our sets, stations, platforms, trains and rail infrastructure are still the backdrops to reunions, goodbyes, separations, and initiatory journeys.

In 2025, we aim to continue inspiring filmmakers, screenwriters and actors with our unique settings for their timeless stories.
