How to request mediation
Background
As part of our responsible procurement policy, we cultivate dialogue and partnership with our suppliers—and where necessary, we offer mediation.
SNCF signed the Responsible Supplier Relations Charter in April 2010, and our internal Ombudsperson is Philippe Mettoux, SNCF’s General Counsel.
About mediation
Mediation is a process for resolving disputes amicably through an Ombudsperson—a neutral, impartial, independent third party who works toward a fair solution for everyone.
The Ombudsperson’s primary goal is to build or rebuild relationships, restore trust and get the parties back to doing business with each other.
Mediation is a negotiation process based on personal freedom and responsibility. Because it is voluntary, it engages the responsibility of both parties, either of which can end the proceedings at any time.
All communication between the parties in mediation is strictly confidential.
Mediation: How it works
If you’re an SNCF supplier, you can request mediation from our supplier Ombudsperson, or from France’s national mediator for business relations. They’ll decide together who will handle your case.
