Supplier governance
Managing our supplier relationships is vitally important. Our governance is built on principles designed to maintain and develop responsible, sustainable and ethical relationships with our suppliers, and the entire procurement ecosystem.
Managing the supplier relationship
Supplier relationship management (SRM) consists primarily of three types of periodic (usually annual) supplier review.
- management reviews for strategic suppliers, which focus on main aspects of the supplier’s activity and areas where we work together
- activity reviews for strategic and key suppliers. These reviews combine analysis of the supplier’s activity and short-term outlook with a performance analysis
- contract reviews—like steering committees for labour contracts—which enable us to track the performance level expected of each supplier in three categories: strategic, key and recurring.
Supplier value management
Our e@si platform is where suppliers can tell us about themselves, learn about and respond to invitations to tender, and more.
Active collaboration
We use dedicated features on the e@si platform to manage supplier benchmarks and build active relationships with our partner businesses.
Shared information
Our centralized database is updated in real time, keeping everyone in the picture and delivering supplier information we can count on—both quantitative and qualitative.
Better relationships
The e@si platform makes it easier for us to stay in touch with our suppliers and cultivate partnerships. We build these relationships on performance and progress plans, carrying out regular assessments and tracking action plans.
Closer ties
Since 2020, we’ve been meeting with suppliers around France. We use these opportunities to help current and potential suppliers understand our needs, priorities and expectations, and tell them about our supplier management tools. Our goals are to source better quality, local products and services and help SMEs and very small businesses access our calls for tender.
Stronger communication
We communicate with our suppliers through a variety of channels: the Préviweb component of the groupe-sncf.com site (the work calendar for our Group and Network Procurement Divisions), supplier conventions and more. We also work hard to ensure that information from our suppliers reaches the right people at SNCF, using dedicated email addresses, post-event satisfaction surveys, 360° evaluations of our partnerships and other resources.
