Meet our ‘augmented’ workers in Nouvelle Aquitaine
Why exoskeletons? Because they help improve working conditions for maintenance technicians and reduce the number of accidents at our technicentre. See the story in pictures.
Exoskeletons to assist human movements
Exoskeletons make light work of tough jobs
At our Nouvelle-Aquitaine Technicentre in southwestern France, maintenance crews now use exoskeletons to assist with their work. This new tool provides physical support and is worn by operators for specific maintenance tasks. It makes certain tasks easier by limiting physical effort and improving workplace ergonomics, which helps prevent musculoskeletal disorders.
What exactly are “musculoskeletal disorders”?
Musculoskeletal disorders, or MSDs, are a group of conditions that affect muscles, bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, etc. Along with back pain, they are common in many workplaces across all business sectors. In France, MSDs account for 87% of work-related illnesses and back pain represents 20% of workplace accidents.
