Prevent. Advise. Protect. Act.
Railway Security officers keep people and property safe, protecting passengers, railway employees, goods and infrastructure for the entire community of rail system stakeholders.

What we do
With a wealth of assets and nearly 1 billion passengers annually, SNCF is a target for malicious acts, from incivility to terrorism. Our security skills are critical not only to the Group’s customers but to its employees and their working environment.

Trained, sworn, certified and armed
Railway Security officers keep people and property safe, secure trains and stations, and monitor railway lines as required by the French Transport Code. We work in uniform and plain clothes, armed and unarmed, and our jurisdiction ends at the street.

Police, gendarmes and customs officers
Our workforce includes dedicated units that support police, gendarmes, customs officers and other investigative services. These specialists fight graffiti, metal theft, trespassing on rail property, and economic and financial crime.
