Gare de St-Denis

Making our stations more accessible in the Paris region

We’ve launched a massive works programme to make stations in the Paris region easier to navigate for people with limited mobility, for pregnant women, and anyone with a pushchair or bulky luggage.

Accessibility difficulties

Four out of 10 residents in the Paris region experience temporary or permanent accessibility challenges when using public transport. We’ve launched a programme to help make their everyday life easier.

Ascenseur en gare

A targeted accessibility initiative for the Paris region

In 2009, the Paris Region launched an Accessibility Master Plan to improve access at 209 railway stations. By 2025, 183 stations in this program meet accessibility standards, with the remaining stations currently in the design or construction phase. SNCF group is committed to completing the programme. Globally, there are currently 232 accessible railway stations in the Paris region, and today 90% of passengers in Greater Paris already use accessible stations.

This €1.8 billion initiative is co-financed by Île-de-France Mobilités, the Île-de-France Region and SNCF Gares & Connexions.
