Our Cap’Handéo-certified accessibility programme
Our accessibility system in the Paris region, our “Accès Plus Transilien” special assistance service for people with disabilities, our digital tools, and our facilities were all awarded this certification. It’s granted for 3 years by Handéo, an advocacy group for people with disabilities, reduced autonomy, and disadvantaged circumstances.
Our passenger experience was tested and approved by customers with disabilities or limited mobility, following the Cap’Handéo certification process. The certification, awarded by Handéo, is based on guidelines drafted by people with disabilities and accessibility professionals. What does it mean? That from trip preparation to in-station and on-board assistance, Transilien services meet accessibility criteria and are considered up to standard for the next three years.
Accessibility in action
The Cap’Handéo certification recognizes the efforts of our employees who have undergone special training to assist all customers, regardless of their situation or disability.
Every day, one person in ten runs into an accessibility problem in a railway station in the Paris Region. This might be due to physical and cognitive disabilities or because they have pushchairs or bulky luggage.
