People are one of SNCF Group’s four pillars, and our sense of community is a vital asset that we all need to nurture.

How we’re fighting discrimination

Eliminating discrimination in recruitment

HR staff and managers attend regular training and awareness-raising sessions designed to eliminate any form of discrimination from the recruitment process.

Highlighting discrimination risks

At SNCF, equality, secularism, and mutual respect are the cornerstones of our HR policies. To ensure these principles are put into practice, we provide HR recruiters and managers with a range of easily accessible resources:

  • Handbooks that outline the legal framework and provide examples of situations requiring robust conversations or even disciplinary action
  • Regular in-person anti-discrimination training sessions
  • Videos, posters, and online training courses.

Our anti-discrimination resources

The “Managing diversity” toolkit

Our diversity toolkit—which received an award at the 2015 Trophées de la Diversité—comprises handbooks, videos, posters and other training tools.

ProDiversité, our serious game

This serious game, which is part of our training programme, teaches employees how to avoid stereotypes and be aware of non-discrimination. The game received an award at the 2016 Trophées de la Diversité.

Encouraging discussion amongst employees

Our regular Rendez-vous Inclusion & Diversité conferences are open to all employees. They aim to broaden the conversation on how to live and work well together.

Whistleblowing

In 2012, we expanded our whistleblowing system to allow reporting of discriminatory behaviour. Any employee who believes they are a victim of discrimination or have witnessed discrimination may report it to the Group’s Ethics Division.
