Our short-term skill-sharing programme
Under this programme, employees can volunteer between 1 and 10 days a year, during their working hours, on outreach projects with one of SNCF Group Foundation’s partner non-profits.
Employees can contribute their skills to specific projects in a range of areas:
- Communication
- Human resources
- Legal support
- Technical expertise
- Project assistance
Project requests are posted year-round on the “Engagement Citoyen” (civic engagement) platform by our partner non-profits.

Team pro bono activities
Team pro bono activities are also part of the short-term skills-sharing programme. Managers can enlist their teams to work together on specific assignments coordinated with partner non-profits.
These special occasions outside the usual working environment strengthen team cohesion and offer employees a meaningful, enriching experience.

Outreach Days
During Outreach Days, SNCF Group employees spend a full day volunteering together for partner non-profits. Under major themes such as youth or national collection drives, these events allow employees to support practical, hands-on initiatives on the ground. These meaningful team-building moments also introduce employees to the world of non-profits and civic engagement.
At each edition, several hundred employees across France take part in community initiatives with real impact.
Mentoring
Through the “1 jeune, 1 mentor” (one young person, one mentor) programme, our employees help young people with their schooling, studies or career plans.
Would-be mentors are trained by our partner non-profits before sharing their experience with young mentees, offering guidance and answering their questions.
As mentors, our employees:
- Foster equal opportunities
- Build lasting bonds
- Share their experience
- Enjoy a meaningful, enriching human experience
Through this type of action, employees experience the satisfaction of doing something good for society while enhancing their own interpersonal and professional skills.
