
Keolis operates a bus service in Virginia, USA
Through its US branch, our Keolis subsidiary landed a contract in 2021 to operate and maintain buses in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC, continuing its success in the United States.
Since April 2021, Keolis Transit America has operated buses in Loudoun County, Virginia, under a five-year contract. It is already present in the Washington, DC region, where it operates the Virginia Railway Express commuter rail service and the OmniRide bus network in Woodridge.
Target: 1.6 million de passengers
Under the €83 million contract, Keolis aims to carry 1.6 million passengers annually, with a fleet of 117 vehicles. Keolis hired 120 new employees to operate and maintain the buses. The group also wants to boost ridership by improving the passenger experience, focusing in particular on punctuality and vehicle cleaning and disinfection.
