Building a life

AFEV
We support AFEV’s career guidance mentoring programme, which helps middle and high-school children from working-class neighbourhoods explore their options and build a career plan.
The programme pairs these school children with university students who spend 2 hours a week with them, helping boost their confidence and desire to learn. Our goal? To support 6,000 to 7,000 school children between 2021 and 2023.

Proxité
We support the implementation across France of Proxité’s mentoring programme for disadvantaged children. Starting in the first year of middle school, volunteer mentors actively help struggling children. There are also group workshops to help them learn and blossom with their peers. Our goal? To support 2,600 young people in 21 cities in 8 French regions in 2022.

Chemins d’avenir
With our support, Chemins d’avenirs continues to help young people from rural communities and small towns through mentoring and training programmes, relocation grants, company visits, and cultural outings. We are helping 400 young rural individuals build their future as students, professionals and responsible citizens over an 18-month period.

Institut de l’engagement
SNCF Foundation supports the Institut de l’engagement’s “100 Laureats” events, which bring together its partners and young people recognized for their community service around workshops, conferences, debates and more. Over a two-year period, we aim to help 1,000 young laureates on this course gain confidence, find a place in society, and get involved.

E2C
The E2C network develops programmes for unqualified and unemployed young people, to help them acquire skills, gain work experience, and a find their place in society. We support projects across France that provide minors with priority assistance over a 3-year period.

Duo for a Job
We support a programme of intergenerational mentoring that helps young refugees find a place in society and the workforce.

KODIKO
SNCF Foundation supports the group and individual assistance provided by Kodiko to young refugees who qualify for international protection. It helps them find work in France through mentoring and workshops.
Énergie Jeunes
We support two Énergie Jeunes’ programmes for young people in rural areas: “Ma Réussite au Collège” (Success at middle-school) and “Cap Orientation” (Planning a career). The goal? To promote autonomy and good behaviour, and help them plan for the future. In all, we support some 3,500 young people through the first programme, an innovative initiative designed by scientists, and 100 others on the career orientation programme.
Unis-cité
Unis-cité offers young people the chance to join a team running a full-time, 6- to 9-month community service project in one of 5 French regions—Hauts-de-France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Pays de la Loire, Occitanie and Île-de-France. The aim is to help 300 young people from these regions build a career path through community work.
Projet Imagine
We support the “Écoles Imagine” programme which teaches children from kindergarden to high-school how to live together and be responsible citizens in one of 6 French regions—Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Occitanie, Brittany, Normandy and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
It consists of nine 1-hour workshops that promote eco-friendly behaviour and responsible citizenship, reaching 7,000 young people across 6 regions.
Respect
SNCF Foundation supports the Raje, Respect network’s Young Reporters programme, which offers a media and citizenship course approved by France’s national education authorities in the Île-de-France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur, Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Grand Est regions. Journalists engage with 1,620 young people through 108 workshops. A national young reporters’ forum is then organized to showcase the skills learned and news pieces produced.

This non-profit helps young refugees find work, with a special focus on those who face the greatest challenges in securing employment.
The Human Safety Net
In Saint-Denis near Paris, and Strasbourg, in north-eastern France, The Human Safety Net has created an dedicated incubator for refugees who want to start a business. The goal is to provide the resources to help them become entrepreneurs and find a place in the workforce.
Le réseau MEnS
SNCF Foundation helps students in exile choose an academic and career path, by assisting them to set up a company or obtain a university degree.
Apprentis d’Auteuil
We help sponsor 300 accompanied minors who are French-as-a- second-language learners at Notre-Dame des Vaux vocational high school in France’s Eure-et-Loire region, helping them find work and fit in socially.
Weavers
The Tisseurs d’Avenir programme seeks to match businesses in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region that are hiring with young refugees seeking long-term employment.
Article 1
This non-profit offers career counselling to young adults from working class backgrounds. We support its efforts encouraging participants to work for the common good and become agents for positive change.
Working for the environment

Tournée du climat et de la biodiversité
This traveling show organized by our partner, Météo et Climat, brings scientific experts to cities around the country to develop climate-change awareness and solutions. The event hosts schoolchildren and features educational material aimed at teachers, the general public, non-profits, elected officials, employees and more.

Landestini
We sponsor the Coupe de France du Potager competition for vegetable growers. The nationwide contest is open to schools and other sites run by students. Its goal? Give students an opportunity to experience the entire food chain, from selecting a garden site to harvesting and distributing the fruits and vegetables they grow.
More than 10,000 children have already got involved in promoting healthy, local food sources, and 500 teams in 86 mainland and overseas French departments have put their green thumbs to work by competing.

La main à la pâte
This organization was created in 2011 by the Académie des Sciences and the École Normale Supérieure universities in Paris and Lyon. It has a programme to get students ages 11 to 15 involved in science education and sustainable development projects, encouraging progressive teaching methods that include classroom activities, science videos and challenges. In all, 6,750 students at 90 schools take part, and 450 teachers help guide their scientific inquiry.

Colibris
The SNCF Foundation supports Colibris’ work facilitating the green transition by organizing local and national forums for discussing aspirations, understanding the challenges inherent in the educational and ecological transition, and cultivating young participants. We also provide counselling and financial aid to 30 young people who are ready to take the next step by attending the “Colibris factory” for 18 months.

E-graine
We support this network of non-profits, which brings together and coordinates actions among local organizations to help young people leading environmental initiatives. The goal is to expand its efforts to new regions.

InSite
The SNCF Foundation supports InSite’s 3-year project to revitalize small towns and energize their young residents. It helps rural communities develop by getting young people involved in local service projects with a big impact.

Terre 2 Cultures
This non-profit helps young refugees find their place in society with a job in the farm and agri-food sectors. The goal is to help them obtain a job offer, housing and social assistance.

Fermes d’Avenir
Programme goals Fermes d’Avenir trains 30 journeymen as market gardeners every year, including 10 refugees, to encourage sustainable farming practices.
Enactus
The SNCF Foundation offers support to the Enactus programme for students. This non-profit helps students create a micro-enterprise and organizes calls for projects dealing with the environment.
Enactus backs 250 student entrepreneur projects each year in France and assists 1,400 students at 90 schools. It has relationships with business professionals and academics in 36 countries.
Makesense
We work alongside Makesense to help young people from disadvantaged communities build a new life. The goal is to test and then roll out a large-scale programme using a standard method to encourage participation and recruit 7,000 young people. 20 non-profits in 30 regions in France have been working for 3 years to develop the programme, which has participants working in groups of 15.
Conservatoires d’Espaces Naturels (nature conservancies)
The SNCF Foundation is teaming up with the French federation of nature conservancies to create educational areas—natural spaces managed by a class of students for an entire school year.
The conservancies protect 3,800 sites totalling 145,000 hectares. Our support has led to the creation of 12 new educational areas.
The GoodPlanet Foundation
The GoodPlanet Foundation’s Cap 2030 programme is training a generation of enlightened citizens and amplifying the messages of young people. It works with high school eco-representatives and highlights their work through a competition.
La Terre en partage
We support La Terre en Partage, which sees the potential for asylum seekers to make a positive contribution to the communities where they find a new home, and helps them aspire to a career in market farming.
Mouvement TILT
This 3-year partnership is aimed at helping the philanthropic and non-profit organizations in TILT’s consortium make their own green transitions. Their innovative, collective approach dovetails with SNCF Group’s CSR goals.
Campus de la Transition
We are helping roll out T-Campuses over a 3-year period. These 4-week workshops help participants understand what’s at stake in the green transition and the solidarity transition. The workshops target young adults and are held at 12 eco-parks around the country.
